Project Summary
For Hispanic Heritage Month, we partnered with La Segunda Central Bakery, a Tampa bakery whose roots trace back to the late 19th century. Founded by Juan Moré, a Spanish-American War veteran who brought his passion for authentic Cuban bread from Cuba to Ybor City, the bakery has become a cornerstone of Tampa’s cultural and culinary identity. As part of our community-highlight series, we collaborated with our in-house production and creative team to create a video celebrating La Segunda’s legacy and craftsmanship. The partnership honored a local tradition that continues to bring people together through history, heritage, and the unmistakable aroma of fresh Cuban bread.

During his time in Cuba, Moré stumbled upon a traditional Cuban bread recipe that left a lasting impression on him. Driven by his love for this culinary treasure, he established the bakery in Ybor City, Florida, fulfilling his lifelong dream.
